Welcome to my blog. I am a career educator and historian. I'm married, and we have four awesome nephews and two crazy cats.

In this blog I write about my hobbies and activities: the artwork of Sid Dickens, the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League, the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League, cottaging, fireworks, slopitch, music, etc. In short, I blog about my personal interests in more detail than Twitter allows.

Boffins and Cold Warriors is a second blog where I post about my professional interests: science and technology, research and development, policy and politics, Canadian history, the Cold War, education and universities, etc. Boffins and Cold Warriors is also the location of my online CV and resume.
